Meeting Community Needs: L.A. Wildfires Relief Funds
Help is desperately needed to assist the hundreds of thousands of residents in the greater Los Angeles communities impacted by devastating wildfires. As an organization with a large portion of our membership based in the Southern California area, ADISA is conscious of the devastation that has taken place in several neighborhoods that are part of the greater Los Angeles metropolitan area and is focused on finding ways to help members contribute to the relief effort.
It's expected that the fires may ultimately be the costliest wildfire disaster in U.S. history, and we are helping connect members with organizations providing relief efforts by listing several that are bringing food, shelter and other help to those directly impacted by this disaster.
Additionally, ADISA is committed to holding its 2025 Spring Conference in Los Angeles March 31-April 2, 2025, at the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown and will plan an optional volunteer opportunity for those interested. A special thanks to ADISA board member Joanna Venetch, a Los Angeles resident, for her help in compiling the list below. Please consider helping those in need with a tax-free donation at this time, whether to one of the organizations listed below or to one of your own choosing.
Discover Los Angeles has a dedicated landing page where the organization is posting regular updates, lists of business closures, and providing information about how local hotels are supporting both visitors and resident evacuees.
American Red Cross
Help people affected by the 2025 California Wildfires by visiting redcross.org, calling 1-800-RED CROSS (800-733-2767) or texting the word CAWILDFIRES to 90999 to make a donation. On the donation page of the website, you can specify to help people affected by the 2025 California Wildfires.
World Central Kitchen
WCK is first to the frontlines, providing fresh meals in response to humanitarian, climate, and community crises. They already have multiple sites set up in Los Angeles to provide meals to those impacted by the fires, as well as firefighters.
Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation
The LAFD Foundation supports the LAFD in protecting life, property, and the environment by providing essential equipment, and trainings to supplement city resources. The foundation is seeking monetary donations to equip firefighters battling the wildfires with items including emergency fire shelters, hydration backpacks and wildland brush tools.
California Fire Foundation
The foundation is working with local fire agencies and community organizations to support residents impacted by the blaze. An online monetary donation to the California Fire Foundation Wildfire and Disaster relief Fund directly supports victims of wildfires and disasters throughout California, including the L.A. County Area.
Wags and Walks Wildfire Fund
Wags and Walks pulls dogs from high kill shelters, places them in foster homes or their adoption center until they find their forever home. With anticipated influxes of dogs over the coming days and weeks, their center has set up the Wags and Walks wildfire Fund, with the goal of saving as many dogs as possible and ensuring evacuee dogs have safe spaces available.
Pasadena Humane Society
Pasadena Humane Society has taken in over 400 animals that were displaced during the Eaton Fire, many of whom came in with severe burns. Their biggest need right now is monetary donations, which helps them to respond with the exact resources that they need.
Sincerely,
John H. Grady
